The is a Dallas
Paleontological Society field trip to a quarry in a Limestone
quarry of lower Permian period (c. 260 mya). This field trip
was very challenging (as advertised) but great fun. The quarry
hosts were very generous and let us use their portable rock cutting saws
and also gave us a FREE lunch. Adam found a
tetrapod (4 legged animal) vertebra in rock. The quarry exposes the
Lueders Limestone. Top 6 pics by Mark McKinzie, bottom 3 pics by Roger Fry. See also Jan. 19, 2008. |
