Trace fossils
(ichnofossils)

Some geologic Stratas have zones with large amounts of bioturbated deposits or in filled burrows.  The larger in filled burrows can resemble bones and are mistaken as such by newer fossil hunters.  They are often seen at the transition between softer and harder sediments.
