Today me, Roz, Adam, Dean and Roger hunted some Grayson formation spots around Johnson county and some Pawpaw formation spots in Tarrant county, Texas.
The 1st stop was the Grayson Formation near Burleson, Texas. This location is just below the contact with the overlying Woodbine formation that forms a large hill. The interesting thing about this location is that there were "dwarf" ammonites, gastropods, and turrilites just like the ones found in the Waco Pit, 2 counties south.

The 2nd stop was a location near the 1st. Adam found a large tooth.

The 3rd stop was an area that produced some large Ilymatogyra arietina oysters. Dean found a couple shark teeth and a vertebra. (no pics)
The 4th stop was a drainage ditch but only one fossil was found, a nice shark tooth in matrix by Roz. We didn't see anything else and decided to race across town to visit some Pawpaw localities.
The 5th stop was an upper Weno formation exposure in Fort Worth. This is just below the locality where the Pawpawsaurus nodosaur was found. This spot produced a few shark teeth and some of the Poecilocrinus microcrinoids (free floating). The crinoids (parts seen in pic) are only about 5 millimeters in width!

The 6th stop was a spot adjacent to the 5th stop, but a little higher up into the actual Pawpaw formation. I found a very broken and incomplete starfish.
